1. Hurricane/Topical Storm Sandy, the so called "Frankenstorm" will hit the
1SR area sometime Monday, according to current predictions. Significant
rain, storm surge and snow is forecasted for parts of the entire District.
2. First order of business is the safety of our members, their families and
their homes. We implore you to take precautions outlined by your local
Emergency Management officials, FEMA, Ready.gov and the Red Cross. There is
no need to repeat those admonitions and advisories here.
3. Do not report to any Order issuing authority locale (local unit) unless
you are summoned. Extra bodies are not needed, until there is a request.
4. As in previous drills and after other natural disasters (Hurricane
Irene), the USCG First District Commander has already requested an updated
accounting as to location (post storm) and the welfare of all members of the
USCG within his command. We request that you "check in" via the Coast Guard
Auxiliary 3N Emergency Notification System. Please follow the instructions
when you are contacted.
